When is the Lunar New Year? It begins on the date (in East Asia) of the second new moon after the winter solstice, which always occurs in late December. In 2024, the second new moon will occur in China on Saturday, February 10, marking the start of a new lunar year. Celebrations include firecrackers, fireworks, red clothes, and decorations. Young people are given money in colourful red envelopes. In addition, Chinese New Year is a time to feast with family members, The Bugis Restaurant makes a great location with its authentic dishes and cosy atmosphere.

The Bugis Restaurant has a brand-new culinary approach with small and sharing plates. The cuisine deeply rooted in the Malay peninsula, Singapore street food and hawkers’ heritage. With Chinese, Malay and Indian authentic and traditional family recipes that have been passed down the generation to generation using simple old techniques and locally sourced ingredients.
